Outreach Ministries

AMIGA (A Mission In God's Amor [Love])

The mission of this ministry is to deliver basic health care, education, and hope to those in need in Honduras.  Members collect and pack items for shipment.  In the fall, some members travel to meet and help those within the Honduran community.

Criminal Justice Ministry

This program ministers to incarcerated youth and adults.  The program offers the opportunity and benefits of Catholic teaching through Bible studies, catechism, and correspondence programs.  The ministry also supports families with an incarcerated loved one, and it assists those coming home from prison with basic needs and spiritual direction.

Food Bank

At Good Shepherd, volunteers meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:00 AM to unload and box food donations from the San Antonio Food Bank and help distribute items to those in need.  The Food Bank is open from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  At Immaculate Conception, volunteers meet on Thursdays at 10:00 AM in the church hall.  From there they go to the Good Shepherd loading area to load food donations from the San Antonio Food Bank.  Volunteers return to the church hall to distribute the items to those in need.  The Food Bank is open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian non-profit housing organization working in partnership with God's people in need to build simple, decent, and affordable homes.  Habitat for Humanity works with low-income families who would not otherwise be able to afford a house.  They partner with hardworking families in need and help them build affordable houses for themselves and their families at no interest and no profit.
